PITCH DECK OUTLINE
Slide One:
Research Question with supporting research and justification:
Current Research Question:
How can research and branding design improve timeliness and effectiveness in the front-of-house at liquid only establishments?
Slide Two:
SME and DME summations including bios and intended use:
DME - Missy Bergen
SME - Joyride Brewing (Brewmaster - Dave Bergen/ General Manager - Grant Babb)
Slide Three:
Summations of research conducted thus far:
Researching current POS systems and procedures from numerous breweries and employee opinions. Working toward understanding where the pain points are in current systems. If there are training issues or technology gaps for the employees and how those are dealt with through the system provider.
Slide Four - Six:
Researched examples of potential solves of the Research Question. These may include aspects of look, feel, intent, audience, usage, technology, etc.
Example Rebrand:
Feral Brewing - As a brand, they elevated from a tightlaced and methodical feeling brand to a downright feral aesthetic. Hand drawings scribbled all over the packaging and bold typeface creates a unique look and a perception that match the name and outlook of the company.
Example POS Systems:
Arryved - The only brewery specific point-of-sale system. Created in Boulder by ex-googlers to cater specifically to breweries. I will be researching this company and product. It is a new brand that has some huge names backing it. The website is lacking and information about the actual product is limited.
Revel - This is the current system that is used at Joyride Brewing and the one that I have had the most hands-on experiences with. It was not created with only breweries in mind. There are too many features that are unused and do not pertain to the industry that just clutter the screen. This will be the control for the new pos system to be judged against.
Interviews and User Testing - My research will include many people to user test and interview for the feel, usability, and iterations.
Slide Seven - Nine:
Task Analysis and Proposed research and Production plan from January – May that includes a Gantt Chart that details the following:
• Future Research (primary, secondary, evaluative, etc.)
• Design Production, Testing, and Iteration
• Process Book writing production & printing
• Exhibition planning and installation
